PRI Training courses are taught by subject matter experts and qualified leaders in Quality. An average instructor has more than 15 years of experience in the quality industry and an established background in the subject matter they teach.

All instructors undergo a rigorous screening and training process that includes:

  • Completion of a detailed application with a minimum experience requirement
  • An interview with PRI Traininf staff and/or senior PRI Training instructors
  • Participation in courses taught by qualified PRI Training Instructor Trainers to learn how to conduct an PRI Training course effectively
  • Co-teaching at least one course in each subject area with an PRI Training Instructor Trainer who observes and evaluates their performance
  • Receiving formal feedback from PRI Training Staff and Instructor Trainers
  • Formal evaluation after each class from course participants
  • Quarterly instructor reviews

Background:

Martin has been a Nadcap Heat Treatment and Aerospace Quality Systems auditor since 2003 and a consultant trainer with PRI since the first courses in Europe in 2005. As well as auditing around the world, he has presented PRI Training courses in China, Japan, India, Singapore and throughout Europe. Martin gained his PhD in Metallurgy from Sheffield University in 1982 and became a Chartered Engineer in 1983. Since then he has worked as a metallurgist in both the USA and the UK and has had roles as Quality Manager, Quality Director and Operations Director in the automotive and aerospace industries. He became an ISO9000 Lead Assessor in 1991 and subsequent work with AS/EN9100, QS9000, TS16949 and customer specific requirements. Martin’s knowledge and expertise has been recognised a number of times, including by the American Society for Metals Marcus A Grossman Award in 1985 and by a Nadcap Mayben-Platonoff award in 2008.

Arnoldo has worked in the aerospace industry since the early 1990's. In his role as QA Manager at Honeywell Aerospace (Mexico) and Eaton Industries, Arnoldo was responsible for NUCAP / Nadcap accreditation in a number of special processes. Lum has 29 years of experience in Quality and Special processes with a major US multi-national aerospace prime with last appointment as Manufacturing Transition Manager. Neil has been a Nadcap Chemical Process Auditor since 2006 and has performed over 393 Nadcap chemical processing audits worldwide. He is a degree level chemist (1989). Charles has been a Nadcap Chemical Process Auditor since July 2017. He previously worked at Sun-Glo Plating Company for more than 20 years as both Quality Manager and Quality Director. Under his 10 years as Quality Manager he developed and maintained a Quality Management System certified to ISO9001:2000 and managed quality functions such as calibration, internal audits, and root cause corrective actions. He was also the Management Representative for all 3rd party audits. Charles then took on the role of Quality Director for over 10 years. Gerardo spent 10 years as a metallurgist in the steel industry in maintenance and subsequently in primary melting and mill rolling. He has worked in the steel industry since 1977 and in aerospace since 1988. With more than 20 years experience working in the metallurgical laboratory for Special Processes in a major Italian aerospace company, Gerardo has gained an in-depth understanding of Heat Treating, pyrometry (AMS2750), furnace vacuum brazing and internal auditing. David Kennedy has been a Nadcap Composites and Non-Metallics Materials Testing audit since 2005 and has been an auditor trainer since 2006. He is a graduate of Sterling College and continued his post graduate studies at Northrop Institute of Technology and UCLA. While at Northrop Aircraft (now Northrop Grumman) Mr. Kennedy led the Quality Technology Group receiving several patents that are now common to Composites Manufacturing and Low-observables verification. During this time, he also maintained ASNT Level III status in Ultrasonics and Radiography. Before leaving Northrop, he was Quality Manager of Northrop's Advanced Systems division overseeing the development and production of composite low-observable unmanned vehicles. In 1996 he was asked to join The Aerostructures Corp. (now Triumph Aircraft) in Nashville, Tennessee as they were building a new composite facility. Tim was a Principle Quality Engineer in Supply Chain for Rockwell Collins. He managed supplier improvements and supplier problem solving. Tadeusz graduated from Cracow University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, where he earned a Ph.D. in Materials Science. His professional career started in 1979 with sixteen years of teaching and research work at Cracow University of Technology and subsequently the University of Pittsburgh (Materials Science and Engineering, Basic Metals Processing Research Institute). He has also taught at the Foundry Research Institute in Cracow. Tom joined PRI in as a consultant trainer in 2012. He retired from Sikorsky Aircraft earlier that year after over 40 years of service in Materials and Process Engineering and in Product Safety. Since 2000, he had been Manager of the Sikorsky Flight Safety Parts Program and was responsible for quality audits of special process sources and first tier Flight Safety Parts sources. Tom graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a BS in Metallurgy and an MS in Materials Science. He also holds an MBA from the University of New Haven. Tom was deeply involved with Nadcap as the United Technologies Heat Treat Task Group member from 1996 until his retirement and has received three Nadcap recognition awards for his service.

Background:

Mr. Park received his BS and MS degrees in Metallurgy & Materials Science from Seoul National University (South Korea) and New York University (New York), respectively. After spending 8 years in the Titanium industry he joined Northrop Aircraft Company (Northrop Grumman Corporation) in 1980, performing as a Technical Specialist and Manager in the Materials and Process Engineering Department. He also served on the Education Committee for American Society for Metals and taught Titanium and Basic Metallurgy classes for Aerospace Suppliers in Southern California.

Eventually transitioning into the Quality Assurance Department, Mr. Park was initially responsible for auditing / approving of the Supplier Quality Management System (ISO 9001). He was a Northrop Grumman representative to AAQG & IAQG, contributing to the initial writing team for AS9100 and Register Management Committee. As a Special Process Quality Manager, he was actively involved in Nadcap processes, working primarily in NMC and various Task Groups. He also sponsored new Nadcap programs such as NUCAP, Composites TG and Electronic TG. Mr. Park was recognized with the Nadcap Leadership Award (2002), Nadcap Mayben Platonoff Leadership Award (2006), and Northrop Grumman Outstanding Leadership Award (2008).

After retirement from Northrop Grumman in 2010, Mr. Park joined PRI and has been conducting Heat Treat and Quality related classes in USA, Canada, China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and India.

Jason has familiarity with AMS2750, AMS2769, AMS2759 (& family), AMS2770, AMS2772, ASTM E-18, AWS D17.1 as well as prime specifications which include heat treat, brazing, diffusion aluminide coatings and welding.

Previous to being a lead instructor with eQuaLearn, Jason facilitated many Nadcap audits in several commodities including heat treat, nonconventional machining, surface enhancement, coatings (diffusion and surface), chemical processing as well as material testing.

Jason served as both a metallurgical engineer and quality engineer at several companies during his career prior to joining eQuaLearn.

Jason's experience has been both R&D as well as production engineering several processes including heat treating, brazing, coatings (diffusion and surface), welding as well as material testing.

Jason serves as a voting member for the AMEC B and D committees.

He is a certified auditor for Aerospace Quality Systems, Aerospace Auditor Transition Training, Nadcap, TPG, MedAccred, CQI-9, and SpaceX. He has expert knowledge in ISO9001:2015 and AS9100:2016 quality management systems. As a private consultant he has been called upon to make assessments of readiness for heat treat special process accreditation which includes assessing thermal processing equipment, human resources, and documented processes and procedures. Background:

Francesco worked at a Prime for 17 years (laboratory responsible and special process engineer) and he had Quality Manager training as part of EASA Part 145 accreditation. He has conducted AS9100 internal audits and worked as a consultant auditor, consulting for Nadcap accreditation in Chemical Processing, Heat Treating, NDT and Composites from 2005. Francesco is trained in Six-Sigma as a Black Belt and has a PhD in Chemistry from Naples University. Currently Francesco works as a consultant and as a lead Nadcap auditor for Coatings as well as translating and delivering courses for PRI Training in Italian and English.
